Language and Cultural Preservation Services

At "Get Rooted," we are dedicated to supporting Indigenous Nations in language and cultural preservation and/or revitalization efforts. You tell us your needs, and we provide support. 100% tribal led, our planning and development services are interactive, collaborative and we support you to bring your vision to life ensuring all plans or resources are designed to meet the unique needs of your Tribe. We would be honored to support your Language Program. Our services include:

Strategic Planning:

• Listening to your goals, vision and needs, and helping Tribes document and define their vision, set achievable goals, develop plans, and develop a road map to support future implementation and effective strategies for language preservation and revitalization program development.

Curriculum Development and Professional Learning Communities:

• Working alongside language leadership and program staff to help outline plans, share successful implementation ideas for culturally relevant language learning materials, including reading and resource materials, picture dictionaries, digital resources, and interactive tools.

• Support with developing culturally and developmentally age-appropriate curricula or resources for schools, community centers, and online platforms.

• Translation of Curriculum Materials from English to Spanish or Spanish to English.

• Culturally and developmentally appropriate curriculum services including iterative review, edits and or updates to Curriculum and Instructional Materials.

• Oral Histories Interviews, Data Collection, and Transcription.

Training and Professional Development:

• Providing training for language leadership to support the implementation of strategic plans.

• Professional Learning Communities for teachers and staff, focusing on developing resources and plans cultural integration.

Language Immersion Program Planning:

• Strategic Planning immersion programs to support implementation plans aligned for various age groups, from early childhood to adults.

• Assisting with development and preparations for language and culture camps and retreats that provide intensive language exposure and practice.

• Developing staff job descriptions, checklists, processes, and training necessary to implement program vision

• Developing customized framework and approach for Tribal Language Teacher Certification, including certification planning, process, resources and resolutions.

Technology Integration:

• Support with the selection and review of modern technology used to create accessible and engaging language learning tools, such as mobile apps and online courses.

• Guidance and Support with developing language internal databases and digital archives to preserve linguistic resources for future generations.

Policy and Program Development:

• Assisting Tribal governments in developing language preservation policies and strategic plans.

• Support with identifying and securing funding and grants to align with language preservation project and program goals.

• Culturally and Developmentally appropriate Native American Studies Curriculum, Syllabus, Research, Planning and Design to support course credit, align to applicable standards (Tribal or State), culture camps, or ancillary studies programs.

Community Projects and Initiatives:

• Supporting community-driven language projects, such as language work groups, storytelling circles, and cultural events.

• Encouraging intergenerational language transmission through family-oriented programs and activities.

• Offering workshops and seminars for community members to encourage participation and support for language initiatives.
